'For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20, KJV
It is truly a blessing when women can get together and be vulnerable with no judgement or competition. I'd like to refer to our Sister Saturdays as a ministry. Why? Because we always start with prayer, we share God's Word, there is fellowship, and breakthrough. Recently, God laid on my heart a foundational scripture and this was also confirmation for me that God's purpose is being fulfilled. James 5:16 states, "Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (KJV) My sisters and I share parts of us that are not so easy to share. When we confess our shortcomings to each other and pray for one another, we receive healing and breakthrough.
Each time we come together it is better than the last as we continue to heal and grow. We make time, show up, and hold each other accountable. Though I enjoy going to new restaurants and trying new foods, being at home in an intimate space is so much better. We have the freedom to laugh, cry, or yell without being looked upon because of our actions. Last Saturday, we met at Kimmie's house. She was prepared!! With her educational background in counseling and social work, she gave us worksheets to help identify some problem areas. I liked that because I am a visual person and I love to write. Something just resonated with me. We buy small gifts for each other to show appreciation (Kimmie started that). I wanted to get them gifts that meant something to me. So, I brought them a notebook and pen. Go figure, right? In the notebook, I wrote on the inside cover Habakkuk 2: 2-3 which states, "And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon the tables... For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." Do you see what God did? The worksheet that Kimmie gave us was our way of writing our vision down and making it plain. Just thinking about this makes me realize how powerful our Sister Saturdays have become. It started with me and my sister, El, making a promise to each other. We opened our safe space up to receive other sisters in need of sisterly love. I'm happy to say that we are continuing to grow and Jenika has joined our sisterhood. I'm so excited to see where God leads our Sister Saturdays Ministry. I know there will be some big things in store for this! Ya'll stay tuned....
Much love,
Sincerely Eliza
