I tried so hard to share snippets of our Sister Saturday but the video quality was not allowing me to be great. Then, I thought maybe it wasn't meant to be shared on social media. Sometimes we get caught up in showing evidence of our experiences that it begins to take away from the moments.
But, let me tell you... WE HAD A BALL!
Sister Saturday starts on Friday night for me. I usually go spend the night with my sister and her family. This is our time to discuss business ideas. We are starting to see her vision become reality! I'm so excited for her.
This time, we decided to open our sisterhood to other women. We invited our sister, Kim, to join us. We went to this new restaurant in Norfolk, Birds and Bourbon. This was a quaint place for brunch. The food and drinks were delicious! What I enjoyed the most is how we created a safe space for Kim to be open and vulnerable with us.
We talked about being self aware and being able to recognize unhealthy patterns. Speaking from my own experience, it is hard for me to break habits that I have become comfortable doing, particularly in situationships. My caring heart has caused me to put myself in positions I was not asked to be in. Our conversation made me realize that I need to position myself to receive greater from all aspects of my life.
We enjoyed having Kim join us for our Sister Saturday so much that we invited her to join us each month for them. Though our Sister Saturday started with my sister and I creating time to enjoy each other's company, I always wanted to create a safe space for women, not just for us, to be vulnerable. We have decided to make our Sister Saturdays about creating a sisterhood for us and other women. As Kim stated, "women need sisterhood." And, I totally agree with her. This was a positive fulfillment and the time spent with them did not leave me feeling empty. I am praying this sisterhood will grow into a great movement. I see big things resulting from this.
♥️Sincerely Eliza
