UNTITLED

"It turns out you can kill the earth,

Crack it open like an egg."

Expose the yolk of the mental chains

Conditioned to be like-minded.

The earth has lost its creativity

To AI

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial simulation, artificial stimulation brain functioning…

Chip it

To control it

Technical humans

Conditioned to be like-minded.

"It turns out you can kill the earth,

Crack it open like an egg."

Destroy the natural process of growth

Life halted, altered.

Consumed to be a necessary ingredient

Often imitated

In different forms, a façade

Appearing to be the same but different in many ways

Poison of lies being feed

Resonating in thoughts

Of questioning the truth…

Conditioned to be like-minded.

"It turns out you can kill the earth,

Crack it open like an egg."

It becomes a world of empty vessels

Unable to think logically as individuals.

Insanity

Of doing things the same, expecting different results

Controlled cycle

Wash, rinse, repeat…defeat.

The earth was killed

When people preferred watching, instead of reading

The lack of knowledge

Conditioned them to be liked-minded.

Excerpt, "It turns out you can kill the earth, Crack it open like an egg", was taken from the poem "Who Will Tell Them?", written by Michael Simms.

I wanted to share my first creative writing exercise. In my creative writing class, we had take an excerpt from someone else's poem and use it in our own poem or short story. I must say, this took some time to write because I was not using my own words. I really had to sit and think about this when normally the words come so naturally to me. But, this was a great start to get me thinking outside of the box.
